Progressive Stupidity: Toy Gun Buy Back

Children, if you touch one of these, you
will turn into a criminal!

You have to read it to believe it. A principal, by the name of Charles Hill, doesn't like toy guns. He believes that they have an adverse effect on children, I assume he thinks those who play with toy guns are more prone to violence. So in a testament to ability administrators to waste time and energy, he has organized a toy gun buy back!

This sort of stupidity isn't surprising to me, and it probably isn't to any either millennial or younger X'er. I remember when my school banned games like red rover because they were 'too violent'. I remember when teachers were actively trying to get boys to play with barbies and girls with trucks, as the saying goes. I remember when our school our school banned neon ray gun style water guns due to a 'no tolerance' policy. I also remember using sticks as swords and guns and pine cones as grenades. But hey, these programs are to keep the children safe right?

This 'gun' buy back program only accomplishes one thing and one thing alone. It shows us that in the political ghetto of California, administrators will waste time with things other than actually educating the children.

If My Bank Pulled This Stupid Stunt

I would have opened a new account with another bank and explained exactly why I was closing my account with the bank in question. Some idiot or idiots at some Swiss Bank thought it would be a good idea to get on the social justice bandwagon and try to spread awareness about the 20% pay gap between the genders. This is stupid for two big reasons.

First and foremost a banks job isn't advancing social justice, it's to not lose your money. The fact that they didn't get short changed is irrelevant. A prank like this would make me lose confidence in my bank. Given the absolutely rock bottom confidence most individuals have with banks since the financial crisis you'd think that banks would be concerned with not losing potential depositors.  Apparently not.

Secondly, regardless on your opinions on the veracity of the pay gap claims the fact is that the guys the prank is being pulled on probably having nothing to do with it.  Yet simply because they happened to be born with a penis a joke like this is acceptable. Imagine the uproar if this were done to women or some other protected group? 

This is absolutely stupid and a sad reminder of how far the West has sunk.

PC Idiocy in the Upper Brass

Reading this, I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
